WTMA students are offered multiple opportunities to show off their talents to the public. The Academy hosts several recitals throughout the years. While some are formal concerts, others are informal recitals with a party like atmosphere.
Our students are never pushed into competition. However, some students thrive on the thrill of competing and the process of preparation and performing causes them to reach new levels in their musical development. WTMA students are given the opportunity to participate in the WTMA Performance Festival, the Jack Hendrix Piano Competition and the West Texas Guitar Festival. Our voice teachers supplement the public school choral directors’ instruction by coaching choir students for competitions in UIL Solo Contest and TMEA All-Region and All-State auditions. On ocassion, you might even see a WTMA performer in the West Texas Talent Search or the Permian Basin Fair Talent Show.
